Italy: Incidence of Circumcision

The Ministero della Sanità (Ministry of Health) reports that 9,356 circumcisions were performed on adult males (18 and older) in 1996. Also 6,675 circumcisions were performed on boys less than 18 years of age in 1996. The total number for 1996 is 16,031.

Italy has a population of about 57,000,000.
